Hey guys, id like to thank anyone giving me input, it really means alot. Anyways, ive got a 1929 Ford Model A, im dumping a Iron Duke into it. Ive got a couple questions. First question, should i go with a T4 transmission or T5? i have a T4, just wondering if T5 is necessary. Second question, besides replacing the rear axle and brakes, is there anything else i have to worry about? I want to be able to take her onto the express way without her falling apart. Thanks guys!
Nope, you can run your stock stuff with a F-1 coversion for the steering box. A couple of the Model "A" spe******ts sell them as an exchange deal that bolts right in. Check out "Bert's Model A Supply", I think they do the kit. As far as the trans goes, I wouldn't build a car today without overdrive, period. Go with the t-5 so you have at least some freeway capability. I'm right now dealing with that with another car that I now have up and running. It's great fun to bop around town, in but in a city like mine freeway and highway traffic moves far faster than it is comfortable at with it's 3.50 gears. O.D. is the next deal...
