    Thanks!

Hey, the car isn't that old...but the guy that's standing there is...

I can remember cruising the Scotchman many times a night in my Lime Green jacked-up '64 Impala..at the time I was running a 301" with solid lifters, a 2:20 low BW 4-speed and a 5:13 rear-end...but like Bob Dylan once said: "The times they are a changin'..." Ain't it the truth...

Won't be down to your party Saturday nite Jeff...other plans...thanx.

Geez, closed in '77! Seems like yesterday.
Someone tore down the car wash on South Broadway just last year! We spent many hours at both...

Looking for pics of kustoms from the 40's or 50's from Denver. I know there were some that existed back then, did anyone take pics 60 years ago?

Sorry Roger, that was a cheap shot, haha. I know I saw a bunch of pics on the wall at the Sabers clubhouse. I'll check with a friend tonight and see what he knows.

The Sabers used to have a great web-site with some of their old ''kustoms" on it......but I can't find it ...please ask your friend what happened to it...or the correct address of it...

    Thanx,

Here are a few pics of some of my Grandpa's customs. The shot of my Grandma in front of his Merc was taken where Mile High Stadium would be built. That was the day he got it.

Thanks for the video link. I grew up listening to my dad talk about cruising to the Scotchman, Dutchman, and White Spot. I'll ask him for some pictures to post.

Great pics! Thanks lucio. I looked up the Sabers too online and only found their FB page.

I'm really looking for any info on a chopped Maroon 1939 Ford convertible with frenched taillights that used to be in the Scotchman neighborhood around 1953.

Also, does anyone know the names of some old kustom shops in Denver in the late 40's or 50's? I mean, shops that did top chops and frenched headlights and lead work & paint.

Does anyone in Denver remember a guy named Roy Nicoletti? I'm not 100% positive on the first name.

He had a '39 Ford kustom and I've been trying to find out if he's still around or if his family is still around.

I have heard the Eifflan brothers of Broadway Auto Body (between 2nd & 3rd) built lots of customs.

I wish I had pictures from back then. Thanks for putting up the video of he Scotchman, Roger. I started going there in 1974 and kept going till it closed I was there at least once pretty much every weekend. Brought one of my 2 Torino GT's (1968 notch back, dark blue, radial T/As, American dish mags, 302 auto or 1970 gold, jacked up Mickey Thompsons - L60s in back, Americans, 429 CJ, 4spd) and sometimes in a friend of mine's 1970 brown Roadrunner. Fun drag racing on Federal every once in a while. Odds were stacked against it once traffic was rerouted, and more compe***ion in the form of fast food restaurants became more common. Lots of anti hot car legislation in the 70's too.
