Fuel/Oil gauge ID... Does anybody know??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by drillmastertommy, Dec 13, 2012.

  1. Hi all, whilst clearing out a project Thunderbird I acquired a little while ago I found this Fuel and Oil pressure gauge. It's very definitely not from my 65 Tbird but I'd really like to know what it originally came from......

Do any of you guys recognise it?? Looks to me like it sits in a 3 3/4"-4" aperture, all I can spot on the back is "AC made in the USA"

Any info to satisfy my curiosity would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like '49 or '50 Buick; can someone confirm?

  3. Is it that or is it from a Mopar the same era?

  4. No, a search of eBay tells me it's 1952 Buick, may fit some other years but it was a straight up match for one currently listed.

  5. I've had a look at the 52 ones on ebay and even though the layout looks to be the same the detailing and mounting tabs are a little different.

I bought my Tbird from the estate of a guy that had p***ed away and I do know that in the same barn there was a project 49 Roadmaster convertible, could it be from that or were they completely different? I did a quick search but came up fruitless.

Can not find a good picture but it looks more like a 1948 Buick.

  7. Just found an old fleabay listing by a Buick parts guy and a 1948 gauge he sold matches exactly! 48 it is!

Thanks for the info guys, now to see how long it takes the missus to tell me to get it out of the house!!
