I was wondering if anyone had any pics or info about the Luz'n'Lumberg 442 Much Olds funny car/AWB. Any info on either version would be greatly appreciated, because this is my current project in 1/24.

There was an article awhile back in the Olds Club of America magazine about this car. It has been restored and on the show circuit. Go to the OCA website, oldsclub.org, and search on JWO articles.

    Here's a black-and-white.

Used to see this car at Omaha. L&L were in Division 5, and would always come to Omaha when they had divison points meets (in those days, you had to qualify for the World Finals in Tulsa by gathering points at several tracks in your division over the season).

They were hard racers and always looked good and ran strong.

    BTW - It's LuNDberg, not LuMberg. (-:

    Sorry,

Apparently my photo was a bit too large and wouldn't load. I'm trying it again here, but if it still doesn't work, I'll send it via e-mail.

By the way, are you building the 66 or the 67 version?

I am not sure, I am still pondering both versions. I am leaning towards the 67 version

Here is the body mocked up, I have finished most of the bodywork, but there is still a lot to go. Don't worry, the engine and back wheels will get replaced.

  14. In the 1974-5 time frame my close friend at the time by the name of Steve Brenner did scratch build this funny car in 1/25 or 1/24. this was at the age of about 15. If I remember well, he based the project on the Hairy Olds kit. He did a very good job with much detail and entered contests with it.

Some men are Baptists, others Catholics, my father was an Oldsmobile man!
    Damn I love these 442s.
