Count all of your internal combustion cylinders and then divide by your age. ie: 50yo with 40 cylinders = .80
Count everything you have running or not, spares, lawnmowere weedeaters etc. NO air compressors or wheel cylinders.
Certain "cool" engines may get a bonus of 2-4 cylinders. Hybrids get a deduction of 6-8 cyl. Rotaries may count as 2.

  2. Huh???

I had chicken soup for breakfast.

Easy enough, I'll play. I scored an 0.72. (didn't count my wife's car)

  4. Ok I am 1.042 but I am going to loose an 12 so I will be @ 1.61.

But I do own a B&M Hydromatic and a T400 out of a B/G coupe does that count for anything?

Oh motorhead lets make this interesting. You know my first number and what my number will be minus 12 cylindes are you good enough at math to figure out how old I am?

Ah Hell I did it backward.

I am .828 and I am going to be .621. Damn it.

  5. Rotaries count as 2? SERIOUSLY?

    Mine's 1.06666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666

According to my math, you're 72. You get to figure out what the numbering scheme is (hint: it's not base 10). :D

    And my index is 1.04.

Just curios - what qualifies as "certain cool engines"? Not that I have any of those...

I come in at 1.4. I likes me some cylinders...

  9. Well I did 12 on a Chet Smith Olds motor, I figure it has enough history to be condidered cool.

You are off by more then a decade. Maybe you should return to base 10 that is what the initial program is based on. :D

  10. 2.028571428571429... Is that good?

I'm not really sure what we are shooting for! :D

    I'm at 0.609 Hey......it matches my I.Q.

  12. Well the pattern is the younger you are and the more cylinders you own the larger your number will be. It is really nothing some some BS that someone needed to get out of their head to make room for more BS. :D

I guess there is a different way to look at it, the smaller your number the bigger your willy. Or maybe whoever has the biggest number has the most money to spend or the least depending on how you look at it.

Is 58 more reasonable? The 72 is in octal (base 8). That's what I get for being a nerd...

Yeah, nothing cool here. I like my belly ****ons.

  15. yep,
Good to know that I am not the only one that can do simple math, even if I can't follow simple directions. :D

Thanks for the brain teaser. Most days I wonder if the gray matter still works.

That makes you not a whole lot older than I am.

Now, do I win that Chet Smith Olds motor? :D

    0.4

Which suggests this must be a weak number for a guy my age since I definitely don't own enough cars with enough cylinders.

It should go up to 0.52 if Santa comes through with another motor.

Hmmm....this could take some time. I'm not even sure how many engines I have but there are a lot. 20+cars all with engines, 20+motorcycles.... What counts for multi points? How about a Vincent V-2? Early Indians & Harleys? OHV converted B's?
I had an 1876 otto single stationary motor but I sold that one, they don't get too much stranger than that... ****le powered snowmobile?

    Cheers!

    Hmm motors that run in vehicles are 15 v8, 3 6, 8 4cyl, 11 1 cyl, 11 2 cyl., at 45 that puts me at 4.51

if I go into motors with no home... I'll stop here :) No extra points for weird ones or counting the ****le.

    Cheers!
