Would a tilt frontend affect the value? Does a fibergl*** frontend affect the value? Let me know. Looking at Unlimited's fibergl*** frontend. Any input on their product, specifically the tilt kit they sell. Thanks.

  5. ANY modified/custom car's value is effected because it was done to the present owner's taste. Now depending on how it was done and what was done to it may or may not appeal to a potential buyer. If it appeals to the buyer then value may increase, if it does not then it will certainly go down.

The bottom line is, don't give a **** about what it "may" be worth just build the damn thing to your liking and quit worrying about it!

Is it worth it to you? That's the only worth that I would worry about. Looks like you have a fine start there.

It's your car and if you want to go tilt, then go tilt. Build it to your specifications, not others. Good luck in deciding.

The value on type of car that would get a tilt front end is based more on fit, finish, and desireability than the material, unless its just a cheap build. Its different than gl*** fenders on A, or a 32, At least as I have seen it.

If you can swing the steel front end do it. If you need to save $ go with the tilt nose. Both are kool.

Tilt it. You will like the access to the motor. Makes a sling, dirty mess of it. So industrialize your compartment to take the abuse. Get a plug in harness so you can total remove it.

Tilt away! It would look right at home on that car.

Well it's better than no front end. If you are building a g***er a gl*** tilt front would be appropriate and not depreciate the value. On a restored car or a fifties custom it would.

Ditto!!!! Unlimited is ****, and you'll spend huge money trying to get it smooth enough to be close to acceptable!

A g***er with stock sheetmetal is a cool car, but one with a tilt frontend takes it to the next level in my opinion. I'd tilt it whether you go gl*** or all steel.

As far a fibergl*** nose, we used the one from Scottrods in Ohio, it was the best we could find, it needed some work to fit well. Food for thought, this is how we supported and mounted it. It is light and easy to work around.

Once you radius the wheel wells you have to "tilt" it. Pretty sure it's a rule or something.

..............or you could screw the steel front clip together and tilt it. That's what my brother did with my old 57 Poncho when he bought it. The only downside was when opening/closing the nose....it took one guy to pull it open and nother guy to pull the bottoms of the fenders away from the doors so they wouldn't get all scratched up. HE should have made a diagonal cut at the top of the wheel arch to sidestep that problem....lesson learned.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll be sticking with metal for sure. I think putting a tilt on it is the right thing to do. Thought I was getting close to being done, but I just took a few steps back. It will be worth it in the end.

  28. Yep, radius, tilt and knarley Olds to be correct.

I like the way you think. ;)

  29. You forgot the Hydro. :D

  30. No I didn't I was juist going to pad the price and throw the hydro in. ;)

I guess I should actually advertise the engine maybe someone will want it.

Hot olds was the ticket in the beginnings of the g***er wars though.
