RiotPirate, A story is out there somewhere about the accident - can't remember where I read it. Any pics of the shoebox after Dean stacked his Porsche into it? I wonder??
It was a fight with the insurance. But they gave me the amount I have in it and the car back so I came out ahead. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
James was hit my a guy named Turnipseed, if I remember. A 55 or 56 Ford. He was going bowling....never saw James coming. he died a few years back.
1. This low mileage all original '40 Ford Standard Coupe sold for $21000 at an auction this past September and was destroyed a few hours later. 2. Looks like the truck is totaled and and the grain auger got bent too. 3. The new owner from California missed the stop sign 1/2 mile east of the auction and got hit by a Buick SUV in the beaver tail of the trailer which knocked the car off the trailer and sent the truck down into the ditch where it hit a big post and then the grain auger. The truck, trailer and the '40 coupe were totaled. The poor guy looked to be about 65 years old but wasn't hurt. I don't know if he had the '40 insured yet. Very sad. 4. It was a really nice old '40. Look at the grass in the top of the door. 5. No comment 6. It looked like there was only tie down across the bumper brackets down to the trailer in the front and in the rear. 7. The accident broke the drop hitch right off the truck. 8. The truck hit this pipe hard! It wrecked the topper too. 9. Unbelievable damage to the '40.
Poor guy, poor 40... if it had been tied down correctly I bet the 40 would have been unharmed or close to it. With my insurance, anything that is on my trailer is covered under the trucks policy, hopefully that is the case with this guy.
40 years ago I was coming home from work, 2 a clock in the morning and near my house the police had the intersection all blocked off, I was one of the first cars to be stopped. Here's a motorcycle halfway thru the drivers door of a big ass Buick. One of the police came up and told me I might as well shut it down because this is going to take awhile. I got out to pass the time and shoot the shit with him, he told me the drivers dead, killed instantly, they think he ran the stock sign & the way they got it figured the MC was doing well over 100 MPH. Looking around I saw the MC riders helmet about 30 feet on the other side of the car in the middle of the street and told the cop about it. He said yes they know and don't go near it, his head is still in it !
Oregon Hwy 42 between Coquille & Myrtle Point, early 1960s, two guys drunk and driving fast on a windy road. They went over an embankment & hit a tree. Both killed. Gruesome.
Really fast powerful motorbikes will get you to the scene of the accident so much faster - exciting!!!
