I'm in the process of gathering up carbs and intakes for an upcoming dyno test involving a variety of 292 & 312 Ford YBlock dual quad intake manifolds. The 2X4 intakes on hand thus far for testing are the Edelbrock 255 & 257, 1956 Ford (EDB-3425-C), 1957 Ford (ECG-9424-D), Edmunds D-427, Fenton, and a Hogans sheet metal intake. It would be a plus to see the Weiand and Offenhauser dual quad intakes also represented during this test. Anything not mentioned is welcome also. Plans are to test some of the intakes with a variety of carbs including the new Demon Street Fighter carbs so there should be lots of information available once the test is concluded.

If anyone has a dual quad intake they would like to see tested during this dyno session, just get back with me and we can determine if this is something different or simply a duplicate of one that’s already on hand. I’d also like to borrow another 1956 FoMoCo 2X4 intake as the one I have here has been heavily modified and is not necessarily a good comparison to the stock ’57 model I have. While you can likely get hold of me through this site, you can also find my email contact information at www.eatonbalancing.com .

Still would like to borrow a Weiand and Offenhauser dual quad intake to test on the dyno with a variety of other Ford Y-Block dual quad intakes. I'll pay shipping both ways. Also could use a 1957 Ford dual quad air cleaner to test. Have several other 2X4 air cleaners but no '57 unit. Feel free to email me either through this site or from www.eatonbalancing.com .

Still needing an Offenhauser and Weiand dual quad intake for 292/312
Y-Block Fords for an upcoming dyno test. Twelve other dual quad intakes are here already but would like those other two so the representation is complete. Just email or call if you have something I can borrow for the test. Thanks in advance, Ted.

Still needing an Offy and Weiand dual quad intake for the Ford Y-Blocks for the upcoming dyno test. Contact me if you know of one of these sitting loose that I can borrow for this test. Most other intakes are being represented in this test including a Hogans sheet metal intake. My contact info is at www.eatonbalancing.com . Thanks in advance for any help with this. Ted Eaton.

Here are some old photo's from years ago. I would suggest you try this site. www.yblockguy.com and see if he has any sources fro these. I do remember that Ford had a Racing Unit in the Pico Rivera plant near Los Angeles and they did a lot of testing work with Weiand.

Norm. Thanks for the extra pics. While there were no Weiand or Offenhauser dual quad intakes loaned for this test, there are plenty of others including several factory Ford units from both 1956 and 1957. And there's a Mercury intake on it's way which is different from all the others also.

As an FYI for those that are interested, the Ford dual plane intakes for the Y engines were cast by Schmeller Aluminum Foundry. If you look at the bottom of the intakes, you'll find the 'S' logo either by itself or within a 'diamond'.

I'm guessing you've got the Fenton. If not you can borrow mine.

The Fenton intake I have is the D427. Is yours this same part number or different? Dyno testing of the various manifolds starts Monday and if all goes well, testing should be concluded on Wednesday. Let me know on the manifold as if it is different, I can arrange to have it picked up for the test. Thanks in advance.
