My buddy has a '79 camaro he may want to let go, I will let him know what you have for trade. Maybe I'll trade him something
I didn't see where you said what model it was. If Catalina then it had the "roto-rooter", if Bonneville then it already should have the 4 speed super-hydro or jetaway..whichever you prefer to call it. A much different and better (IMO) trans than the roto.
LOL youse guys are too funny, it's a roto Catalina, gonna haul it home this weekend, pull the plugs, lil oil in cylinders and see if it'll turn over. I've read mixed opinions on those roto ******s. And looking at Poncho catalogs one of the big ones doesn't list an interior kit for 1961, it starts at 1962. If you look at the right side rear fender fin you can see some bondo, maybe the reason the chrome trim fell off. At least OPGI offers a trunk floor, they had a comment/review from a guy that said it wasn't even close to original, oh well, I'm not a factory original type of guy. Thee's a nice Catalina coupe mild custom on fleabay that looks like they put some kind of different tail fins on it, can't quite tell from the pics but it's a nice coupe, not many 61 Catalinas around at all.
How about it has PS, PB, and PW? I haven't tried to start it yet, I need an air filter housing, although it may be somewhere in the trashy shop it's sitting in. I will try to crank it when I get it back here and check the oil, I got a blem battery from a local Interstate battery distribution center for a Ford Expedition for $38, I also need to check the fuel tank for corrosion, I'm thinking it has some rust inside it. It's a long way from road worthy, most of you guys know, it will probably need all new brake lines and hoses. Has anyone ever adapted a C5 Corvette suspension sub frames onto a full size 61-64 Pontiac? On the 55-57 Chevy Ti Five forum there's a guy that adds those subframes to your frame, and another that sells metal plates you put together and weld yourself a frame that easily accepts a C5 subframe and rear axle. It has a generator on it, as well as a single reservoir brake master cylinder, Who knows if there's a dual master PB cylinder that's a bolt in? And when did they switch to alternators?
Score! But I'm biased lol.... Catalogs don't have big support for 61. I got my full interior kit from Harry Samuels in Michigan about 4 years ago. He saved bunches of old original material. Have to do a lot of ***embly yourself though on the panels and such. He might have retired?
He is still in business, sent him an email, still has original fabric and making show quality seat covers. I brought Annette home today, gave her a bath even.
