Hot Rods Lets see some 52-54 and 55 Ford 2 doors

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Traditions Racing, Aug 13, 2012.

  1. I'm building a very stout 300 Ford 6 Inliner that well won't be naturally aspirated, and also have plans for a new shop Hot Rod. After watching one of those goofy build shows on TV, I realized that the 52-54 Blue Oval Platform would be perfect. I know the 52-54 are one platform and the 55 is a total diffrent one, so I don't need someone telling me that. The 55 is close enough to the same look I'm going for, so if you have a cool one, lets see it. I am leaning toward a 60z g***er style with the big 6 and a Top Loader 4 speed. Thanks in advance!

  8. Thanks HRP, I'm just seeing it now. So I'm thinking one with my blown 300 6 cylinder and a stance like that should make a great conversation piece.

  9. C'mon guys there has to be more out there than these fine examples provided by our good friend H.R.P.

My pal Len is resurrected this '54 after sitting in a junk yard for 45 years,,I watched this car run at the local drag strip when I was a teenager.

It originally had a 390/4 speed,,,

Len is building it to be a street car and due to having the bones in his left leg fused due to a horrible accident it will have a automatic transmission. HRP

  14. Thanks HRP, hope your friend has a full recovery and gets well fast. Is he putting the 390 back in with the auto trans?

I've seen a couple of these cars with raised rear wheel openings but keeping the square shape instead of round, looks really good. They were on customs but I think the treatment would look equally good on a hot rod.

I can dig up pics if you want.

This is my 53 that I built and drove in high school. Flipped spindle supports and de-arched springs, in the weeds is where it's at. That was 1960. Got a real spot in my heart for 52/53s.
