GM Hinge - What's it for?

    I have a pile of old door hinges that I'm going through. I found this one and the tag is half ripped off. Anyone know what it may be for? Here's some quality pictures of it:

    That last pic, the tag has a date in 1974. They must be for a vehicle pre-1974, but I'm not sure what for.

    Any info is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks to the HAMB, I've been able to identify a lot of older parts.

  4. Maybe if you could try and get most of that tag back together, the part number will nail it down.

    Ya, that's why I posted it here... that tag is just not readable. I can read those last 4 digits, but everything else is ???

    The 792 number might be the original number ,the other is a newer style tag , and might be the number it was changed too. I will look in my books.

    Sorry alohadogg, I couldn't find it in my old books, its probably on up there in the 60's maybe 70's.

    Looks very similar to a 65-66 GM B body lower hinge. I need one of those.
