I have to admit this is the time of year we wait for down here. No 100% humidity and it isn't 95 + degrees in the shop, sweating like a stuck pig. Actually feel like going outside now at noon. Don
This is the time of year we put it in the garage and fix / add the things we didn't do in the summer 'cause we were too busy driving it....
This is winter and it has been here for two months already. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Yes, you're right, it's not officially winter yet by the calendar, but up here in the northeast it's been winter car wise for weeks. As soon as they start sanding and the salting the ****py roads the cars hibernate.
Yeah...The sand and the salt is the killer. On the bright side winter makes you appreciate driving your car even more when spring finally arrives.
Weather folks talking about 10-16 inches next 24hrs. Already had a few inches last week and even though driving my "winter beater" I cringe having to go through those piles of salt before the stop signs. Don't figure a '88 conti will ever be collectible, and rest of flock are tucked away until the rain washes salt off.
I look forward to winter in my shop. No gr*** to mow, no crops to tend, no house to paint etc. etc. I fire up the wood burner and get lost out there. I just added a wireless router to my home computer and can now access the internet in the garage if I need it. Along with the TV I am a pretty happy camper out there. the more snow the better for me.
Our summers are like your winters, you just don't feel like doing anything outside. I love the south in the winter, been in the garage everyday without feeling like I'm gonna p*** out. No matter where you go there's always gonna be +'s and -'s.
I lived up north for years and worked outside ever winter building homes unless the temperature got below 10 degrees. I noticed when I ever I saw the weather channel it was always sunny and in the 70's or 80's on the west coast of Florida and I would tell my wife that is where we should be living. 21 years ago I said good bye to winters and putting chains on the truck and burning firewood 24 hours a day to keep the house warm. When I moved to Florida I build a brand new home for the family and it was like Florida was made for builders because you have no winters, no ba*****ts, and no unions. I still like to see snow as long as it is on TV and I do not have to drive in it anymore. I also like the idea that you can use your property 12 months out of the year instead of 7 months a year. Property taxes are one third of what I used to pay and gas in now 2.99 a gallon. For me it's work well I know others may not enjoy the weather but I love it. Jimbo
It's been a mild winter here in Noo Yawk. I'm lovin this global warming thang....keep driving those gas guzzlers!
