I putting new wheels and tires on my 65 econoline truck and want to use radials because this is my daily driver. Already have bf goodrich for the rear but cant find any skinny radials i like for the front wheels, 15 X 4 1/2. Anyone have a tire and size of radial that they like/used for the big and little hot rod look? And I really don't want to run drag radials if I don't have to due to quick wear on a daily driver. Thanks.
I think we were hashing that around yesterday. Take a look at this tire. http://www.shop.speedunlimited.com/p-6207-nexen-sb802-16580r15-16580-15-1658015-tire-tires.aspx By hunting around you can find it for somewhat less but it has a clean simple sidewall, and a rather simple tread pattern. I went tire looking a few weeks ago on my lunch hour and Sears had a Cooper tire that had a rather plain sidewall without all of that tuner car frufru on it.
The BFG Radial TA is a good tire for the 4 1/2 rim.Running them on my truck. The size is 155/80/15.Bought mine 2 years ago, were still under $100.
mr48chev, it's funny you posted that, that is the tire that i ended up getting. I got them for about the same price but if your not in a hurry, you can order them thru wal mart for $52.
