A guy came into my work (I did not know him). We got to talking about early cars and he said his Dad had some pics he took in Bonneville, and that he would scan and email them to me. I gave him my email address and sure enough a couple day later I received them! He gave me permission to post them here. So here they are, I would imagine never before seen by the public
Looks as if 'gas' cl*** (probably gas coupe/sedan) didn't allow top chops so in order to run in 'gas' they had to add height back in to the top of the car.
The story on the 5 window roof is to be in the stock cl*** he had to have stock roof diminsions so he "raised" the roof to meet the requirements. That car has had its pics in several mags in the past and had the story printed, I might not have it excatly right but that is the jest of it. Jim
It looks like the unchopped '32 has the roof section just clamped on. It appears to have clamps going to the drip rails. Doc
5 stars to the unknown guy ... anyone notice the sidemount fender on the 5 window ? 99% sure it's the Lou Bingham car. (See Dec '53 R&C).
