Car show pics from the early '60's!

Last visit home, I was going thru 35 mm slides and found some pictures taken back in the early '60's when dad used to show his truck on the Midwest circuit. Most of these were taken in Omaha, some in Council Bluff and Des Moines, Iowa. Hope you enjoy!













Dad's truck is the black '34 Ford.

Amazing photos... thanks for sharing them.

Most of them are photos of Hot Rods... are there more photos of Custom Cars in your collection as well. Would love to see those. In some of these shots there are some great looking customs in the back ground.

 

Those are cool photos. Rikster, I was hoping by some miracle you knew something about the car in the first picture...

The Chevy in the first photo is Bob Beaudini's 1950 Chevy Bob's Chevy was on the cover of the April 1959 issue of Rod & Custom.... which can be seen sitting in front of the trophies.

The was obviously taken after 1959, since the magazine cover is in the photo. And since then Bob has added the scallops to his car... probably to update his car for another Custom Car Show season. Great to see this great color photo showing the great interior and all the details.
I love those old trophies!

Excellent piece of history, thanks for sharing. I'd like to go through my dad's old 35mm slides sometime but I don't think I'd find many hot rods.

 

Here are some to give some thought too. Our cops used the Hudsons until 1961 and always made money with them.

Awesome pics, thanks for sharing. Your dads truck was sweet. Post up some current pics, it would be fun to see it's bumps and bruises from years of life!!! Any chance someone has more pics/info of the "Blue Angel" custom roadter pu (post #7, first three pics)? I really would like to see more shots of that, interesting, kool rpu.
