Here is my grill on the cheap. For the price of a repo Corvette Grill I was able to make this grill as well as buy the lakes pipes for my current project.

$115 Total spent. Perforated metal, stainless screws and ebay scored kitchen draw Pulls. That is right from the kitchen hardware area.......

2 pieces of flat stocked tacked together so that the holes could be drilled equally.

screw the draw pulls top and bottom on the flat stock.

weld perforated metal into opening of the grill.
Mount, the mounted draw pulls into the opening. Perforated metal was blacked out.

Andy, great budget grill build. It looks great, nothing like clean and simple.

Nice! Never would have thought about using the long drawer pulls like that.

  15. Clever! I`ve seen round kitchen knobs used on a custom before but this is a whole new level, well done.

    BTTT

Just mounted the visor back on. Rear gl*** and side door gl*** next. I got new clean parking light lenses and chrome bumpers already, as well as lakes pipes that will fit in the moulded pipe. Waiting to put the shiny stuff on as it has to stay outside. Still trying to sell my model A. (check cl***ifieds)

get edwierd to paint" durl girl " on the trunk! that would be HAMB-O-LISCOUS!

  28. I really like the idea, but wonder what it would look like if the insert followed the outer/front edge of the shell better? The middle sticks out a bit too much for me, like a Merc grille.

Neat job. Ive been goin back and forth on the drawer knobs section at all local hobby stores for the past 4 years.....but ive yet to convince myself.
One of the koolest old tricks imo.
