Just finished up converting my '37 Ford to a saginaw 525 box. What an improvement! My old original box was always hard to steer no matter what I did to adjust it. The saginaw setup went really easy. Thanks to all in this forum for the advice.
Here are some pics of the box installed in my 40 using brackets from Ch***is Engineering. The pitman arm is aftermarket for the pwr box that I bent to better align the drag link. Middle pic is showing the CE mounting plate & pitman arm. In the last pic I tried to show the space between the block and steering box.
My '37 box was shot. The worm gear is pitted but the sector shaft was okay. I've listed it on another site. The 525 box was from a mid 60's GM front clip that I found behind a mobile home. The best part was that my pitman arm from my old box fit right onto the 525. I bought a bracket from Ch***is Engineering and one steering joint and a coupling from 3/4 round to 36 spline. The whole job took less than 2 hours.
