I do not recognize the side by side block letters on these covers, they are not like the common M/T staggered casting that are everywhere

Non-staggered indicates post '57, and the more common castings are do***ented in the '64 catalog.

  6. There were something like 82 designs of the M/T covers over the years.

Very neat covers...I have had similar covers but without the M/T script..I think they made the ones I had from 1964-67 or so...I would think that yours would be from that time period possibly earlier...or right before the common M/T cover everyone has seen that came out right around 1968 or so...

Weird thing is that covers and intake were not bought together but covers have some rub marks where they are close to intake so at one time these covers were used with this type of intake.

Guess they should have used some thinner valve cover gaskets...

those are after 1964. 1964 still had "THOMPSON" spelled out. 1968 had the big M/T with the flat spot in the fins and no breather holes according to a couple catalog pages I have in my computer.

[IMG] Steve O, Here is a dyno picture from the inside cover of the 1966 M/T catalog. The SBC on the dyno has a set of the valve covers you have. However they do not list them for 66, cause they are introducing the new style with the pad that you can inscribe your name on. This does not give you a definite date of yours, but it narrows it down.
