I was flipping the pages of some old hotrods mags and it seems that every time a custom appeared it had Packard Clipper tail lights grafted in. Coming from a hotrod guy, how often does a set pop up for sale & what type of money do they bring?
Try Wirth's Custom Automotive Item # 504500 1956 Packard Tail Light Lenses $120.00 ea. http://www.wirthscustomauto.com/sfnt.html .
Lenses are repoed, like Rocky posted. Fibergl*** housings are made, but.......... IIRC, no back-up lenses yet. Originals ARE hard to find, had a tough time finding some for my Olds back in '81!
Sometimes it is easier to find a whole car, I have found a few. These were from a 55 patrician, sold them last year.
there was a salvage/wrecking yard south of Seattle in between Hwy 99 and I-5. In the middle of the yard was a shed with shelves. On the shelves were hundreds of OEM taillight lenses in dealer boxes. We spotted about a dozen or more 57 Packard lenses, but because we were hot rodders, we didn't care....ask me if I care NOW......
There is a company out there remaking the housings and all, beautiful chrome. I had contacted them once about them, found out they were 1600.00 for the pair. Too rich for me. Since my computer crashed lost the web site, a little digging you probably could find them.
