Nahhh, put some '32 rails under it and step it. They are crowded enough without channeling and taking away more space. Good to see another RPU lover. Yours is looking fast already.
Hey I`m glad you responded. I been postin pics of my rpu for weeks and never got 1 responce. I`d like to see more of your pu also,Got ant Pics?
man that 48 made me miss mine so much that one's damn beautiful. heres my 57 it's an old pic i might take a new one tomorrow since i just airbagged the rear and put new front fenders on it cuz of that damn accident
Here's the '32 I was buildin' when I found the 3W coupe body. She's sittin' here ready for paint. Bruce at Bruces' Rod Shop in Houston has her now.
I can't take it anymore.... Yes its for sale. I have a 33 unchopped coupe with an 8BA in the works. Pm me if interested.
These photos were posted a short while back. Hambers are probably sick of looking at it. It has been on the road for nearly a month now. Evening rides during these hot summer days are really fun. I need a top for some shade.
Ahhhh, thanks for posting the 1149, the inspiration for all RPU's that wish they could go FAST! I didn't see you folks at the Salt this year. Did I just miss you? Jim
Dad and I were there playing tourist. We ran out of money and time preparing this year, The day we left for Bonneville we made the last payment on our new cylinder heads. We're building a new engine, Walter had a new 427 tall deck hidden in his garage, he donated it and is supervising the build. When time ran short we scaled our plans back to World Finals next month, but salt conditions have us re-thinking that option and settling down to be fully prepared for next August. Walter has us into a new set of AFR heads, with matched Wiseco pistons (They look like jewellrey!). we've salvaged the crank and rods from the ld engine, cam too. The intake is changing and due to the difference in height of the heads the valve train will undergo some changes as well. We're also paying a bunch of attention ($) to the cooling system. That'll make funding the valve train a bit easier. Mike
Seems like I've been doing little stuff on the rpu for months. Doesn't look like much progress here, but there is. This was shot this weekend. Every now and then I have to just bolt it all together to keep inspired.
Heres mine, the chassis is done now and I am on to the body, should be back together for the last time soon.
Looks great from what I see.Noticed you run the rear fender brackets, is there a reason why? Just wondering if they help strengthen the bed sides or what.I dont have them on mine. Is that a 32 grille shell? I have one just like it with good insert ,but is sets way to high on my car & can`t bring myself to cut it up!
