It mentions another thread where it states that the 34 has the dips in the cowl to support the opened hood.

My car is a 33 and has the dips.

Is the statement correct or in correct? If correct is my car an oddball? Or maybe someone found the 34 style dips useful and modified my cowl with a couple of carefully aimed hammer blows??

What do the factory dips look like??

Lots of questions - here's a couple of pics of my car.

The factory 34' cowl has a definitive stamped recess. Yours looks to be "persuaded" it still does the job & that's what matters!

Sorry Mart. you have the same as mine,
    Homemade dips.

Attached a Picture on a original 34 firewall.

The 33 have a tab on the radiator tank.

ive attached a picture on my "homemade" raidiator tab , I have pics on original somewhere cant find it just now.

The 34 dip was an functional improvement as the two handle's on the hood sides.
