I have a 66 Cyclone one side is higher then other. The ground is level, tires are the same size, all the same parts on both side, But when I measure both wheel wells one side is 1/2 higher. When Iplace a level on the fender over the shock towers the car is setting level. Need help how to level the wheel wells and keep the rest of the car level also. Thyanks in advance for your help. ED.
Pick a different spot to measure, like a headlight brow.....do the same at the rear of the car. If all else fails, get a chubby girlfriend and put her on the high side. Don
Which side is higher. When I worked in a van conversion shop the driver side was always higher than the p***enger side. It was to compensate for the driver. Nick
Go with what Don suggested in Post # 4 and measure in several places on the car beside the wheel well lip. Make sure that the floor that the car is sitting on is dead level too or you are not going to be accurate with a level. An older car sagging a bit on the divers side is pretty normal as most cars get driven most of their miles with just the driver in them. If everything else is square the fender wells may be a bit different side to side but no one can see both sides at the same time. And the guys have a point, that car is too new for this board.
For a clown with an off topic car on a traditional hotrod and custom forum you are pretty ****y. Do your self a favor and click on Don's screen name and then when his page comes up go over and click on statistics and then click on posts by Don. I can pretty well guarantee if you read 100 of his posts he is giving sold advise to someone in 75 of them. You are a long way from the first character that came looking for an answer to his not HAMB friendly car and got his tall in a knot when he didn't get the answer or reception he wanted. Maybe one of the all Ford boards is a better fit for you.
I'm reminded of a post re; fender openings being a bit different from side to side,... Consensus was that people wouldn't notice a difference, walking around the car. Given this is a newer vehicle, I'd go with multiple measurements,....as well as some "driver side sag", due to being driver occupied more than not. Please keep us posted on what you find,.. There must be others with similar issues. Merry Christmas...... 4TTRUK
And be sure to read the part in the forum rules which states " the members with the most posts are the smartest". Dont believe me? Just ask them.
Hi I know the answer to this one . Ford used up all parts nothing ever got s****ed . 1966 was a design change on springs . lots of 65 and older springs in pipeline ,same number .But 66 and newer thicker material get a set off older or newer car JimB
Wish I understood the issue better. 1/2" higher? Do you mean from the ground to the top of the wheel opening? Besides checking with level, how and where are you measuring? Is it possible that it's a collision/ alignment issue? Are your hood/fender/door gaps all good. If so, are your springs and other components matched? Do you have a lot of upper control arm shims on one side compared to the other. I've seen lots of cars that had slight frame damage and were never returned to factory specs (Frame specs) just new sheet metal. Know what I mean?
check that the spring is in the "pocket". sometimes you just need to rotate the spring till it slips in.
I think Eddabbs has left the building, fellas. He evidently thought I was serious about the chubby chick. Don
Made me laugh. Thanks for a great start to the morning. "Fat bottomed girls make the rockin' world go 'round"
only one of a great many things a fat girl is good for....one in the trunk and you got a tail dragger
