Great progress, keep the updates coming. It is a major hurdle cleared when you get this far on a build.

Thanks to all for you positive feedback and all i have learned here on how to do things.
I sealed the seams and the drip rails and then painted them. that is is for now. Plan to get it back together and see how things line up and then to the finer smoothing out of the dents and dings. it is set up with paint dividers and I'm leaning towards a white roof.

looking good nomad hope you don't mind me looking .mine is just a econobox 6 pass 4 door brookwood. i can relate to the work you are doing as i did a body off resto on mine about 12 yrs ago. mine was out of texas and needed floor boards and a few little dents beat out. it's got a few bubbles poppin up and some chips in the paint now but it runs and has been very reliable for the past few yrs. i hate to pull it off the road but have worked out a deal to paint the roof and fix the bubbles by a good body shop butnow that the weather is really nice down here it may have to wait a few months .good luck with your project

thanks 59 brook, my nomad was top of the line with a lot of adder, but it too came with the lowly 235 L6 and a Powerglide. hope to see posts of your progress once you star to work on it.

thanks HRP, there were times it felt like i would never get to this point but you just have to keep at it.

Not much to post on for pictures this week. i'v been sorting parts and reorganizing them to see what i need to get. founds a few more little parts i need to prime, the gas door and the rod springs for the tailgate.
i borrowed a sandblaster and made a temporary cabinet to contain the mess out of a big cardboard box, a old window on top and a metal milk crate to support the parts on the bottom. used a 500 watt lamp on a stand to shine in and cut a hole in the side to reach in and blast away. it actually worked okay but do not think i will try that next time. (while i was doing it, for some reason Jeff Foxworthy keep coming to mind....)

Starting to do the reassembly so i can see how things fit and do the next stage of prep.
Painted some more bolt heads so they will look good with the inner fender wells and the radiator support.

Thanks, I'm still finding more little things I need to do and am starting to do some final filler work and panel adjustment.
Still debating on doing the top with a Arctic White enamel. Have a ways to go before i need to make the call on that. Once every thing is lined up and the bondo done, i plan to shoot it with one more coat of DP60. Then there is few days to decide to do the sand-able primer/filler, without having to sand the primer.

Progress update, must be making some. Went from holes you could stick your hand into, to being concern over scratches and pin holes in the filler.

The car had skirts when new, so I'm getting them set up to match.
Time will tell if I run with then.

COOL! I hope to see you there. I took the 60 out for its LAST drive last weekend....

Then drove it into the shop and started tearing it apart. Hopefully I will be pulling the body next week, then I have to fix a few things on the frame before I set the Nomad body on. I dont think I'll have a problem getting it done for Spring, but I also know how things go for me, so we'll see.
    Later, Carl.

hi Carl, it looks like the your engine has a bit more power than my 235:rolleyes:
Maybe for 2014 i will get around to putting in the V-8, but for now the focus is on getting the body work and paint done (whatever that turns out to be for this year)
Are you planning to update the build here as you do the body transplant?

Just found the thread and subscribed. Nice solid work. You are a patient man. I would be itching to get it on the road. You do really nice work. Keep at it.

Maybe I'll post something on the build, once its a little farther along though. Hell, I might even have the body off this weekend.

We will have to try and get the 2 Nomads parked by each other at BTT50s, yours will look prettier though.

    Thanks BBC.
I try to be patient but am itching to get it back on the road, there will be plenty left to do next winter.

Sounds like fun Carl. Nice of you to say that mine might look a little better but think how badly you would whip me at the stop light.
The 235 reportedly can run the 1/4 mile in about................eventually.

Spent more time this week cleaning up little spots and trying to get every thing lined up.
Most of the body is back on the car and fitted up.

    Thanks 60WW,
I think they will look good too.

Not much to update in the way of pictures, more sanding, fill and sand.
Did search to be sure to be sue every thing that still needs paint is ready, also did some more seam sealing.

Quick question......are the aluminum (below door) sill plates for wagons (4dr) available in reproduction?

Are they the same as 4dr ht & sedan?
