I'm thinkin that flip top AMX was the same one for sale at the Turkey Run at Daytona last Thanksgiving.
Fergen, I would love to get copies of those for dad. He doesnt have many of Thunder Valley. If those are 70 he would have the yellow Old "Compulsion".......any shots of that? I only have one of it wheels up on the line.
God bless you, good sir. I used to go up to Marion to race in my HS summers (late '70s); man do these pix bring back memories... especially the HAIR BENDER mopar! Sponsored by the Stewart School of Hairstyling in Sioux City. That's my mom's alma mater - she was a beautician, graduated from to Stewart in the '50s.
Thanks Tman. I put some more pictures from the late 70s early 80s on my site but there is about a hundred and I thought they were a little OT for the hamb.But.... If you are a old drag racer you might want to check them out. Mostley Modified Production and Super Stock all from Thunder Valley. www.fergenboysinc.com If anyone happens to know some of the drivers let me know so I can lable the pictures. Thanks Chad
Oh man.... I spent countless Sundays at Thunder Valley when I was growing up (80s/90s)... it IS 2007 already! My dad raced a 9 second Kawasaki up there. He still has the bike and brought it back to life a couple years ago. It is just a great old track that won't quit. I love it. Has a laid-back, bad-*** vibe similar to Mo-Kan. Thanks for sharing the photos! Malcolm
Do you remember a 70 green nova with keystones up front and turbines in the rear from Yankton sd. Thats my dad. I need photos
got a photo of a car that used to race at the track in the mid to late 70s looking for photos of the car on the track
