I know you can spend up to $2000 on one of these for a pro quality gun, but I'm not a professional body man. It may only get used once and a while, or borrowed out in exchange for other work. Now I don't want to go out and buy something super cheap too. I was looking into buying the H&S Autoshot 4550 Studwelder Starter Kit. http://www.hsautoshot.com/4550.html Anybody have any opinions? Experience with one of these? Is it a decent tool? worth getting?
Hey, What's sucker price on this gun? Unless you're goin into late model collision repair I can't see it Buy a good body hammer & dolly and a couple of pry rods, maybe a 18'' and a 24''. Unlike today's vehicles, most traditional iron has body panels that can be straightened from behind. " Do not reach greedily for the Kool-Aid "
I bought the Stinger Plus a couple of years ago to weld window trim studs on my Riviera after rust repair, it worked great. I have since used studs to pull dents/creases and even used the shrinking tip before I figured out how to use a shrinking disc. The guns works well, the slide hammer is OK, and the case sucks as the closures broke shortly after arrival. All that said, I have a professional Body Man friend that says I blew it and should have sprung for a gennie Spitznagel...
