Rack and Pinion that is! I'm looking for a manual rack and pinion for my MII front suspension. Yogi's, which is fairly close to me, has a Flaming river rack for $160, other ad's I've seen have a manual rack with no name for $135. I'm not sure what to get or where to get it. Also, I've seen kits to use an 84 Tbird rack with the MII crossmember. What's the advantage of the Tbird rack? I did a search but didn't come up with the answers I was looking for. Any info will be greatly appreciated. By the way, this is going under a 52 chevy pickup.
Jennilee Harrison??!! Uh, oh...wait... Try your local auto parts place. Many times they can sell you a new (or rebuilt) manual steering rack for a 74-78 Mustang II at a pretty reasonable cost. Unless you NEED a polished or chromed one, it may be your best bet?!
Damned if you ain't a man of extremely good taste. But it has to be the 1977 Jennilee model. The current version is a little on the rough side. Thanks for the mammories er I mean memories!
Those are very nice too, it's just that a woman named Pete doesn't do alot for me. Although a woman with a flathead (her's or Ford's) would!!!
I was going to say that! We sell the Flaming River racks and have little if no returns on them, if that helps any.
They say sometimes you have to step back and smell the roses, or in this case.... Look left and enjoy the Avatars! I cruised right by Pete's avatar, I REALLY wasn't paying close enough attention, I thought it was a picture of a water tower!
Milk towers... (Sorry, couldn't resist!) Now back to the post at hand... (hey, we kept it at the top for ya!)
Some of you will think I'm nuts, but my rpu uses a YUGO rack. That's right...a YUGO!! It's a very small, very clean, behind-the-axle mount that's actually manufactured by TRW-Italy. Good quality and it was $10 at the import auto salvage. It even took standard tie rod ends.
Ha Ha Ha...yeah, the movie "Tank" was all about her ****s... ...in that dirty white tank top with no bra...
Te T bird rack fits by moving the right mount, otherwise it;s the same, length, tie rod threads, and all. Much slower steering than a Mustang II, I like them, switched one over last week. Listed for $115 at Napa pn 22-203T
wE USE THE FLAMING RIVER IN OUR SHOP ON THE STREET RODS WE BUILD HOWEVER IT USES A TRIANGLE INPUT SHAFT AND REQUIRES THERE U-JOINT AS BORGENSON DOESN'T MAKE ONE THAT FITS IT THAT i KNOW OF. iT IS EXPENSIVE BUT THEY WORK VERY WELL...........AND ARE NEW NOT REBUILT OR WORN OUT .. i THINK IF IT IS DEPENDABILITY AND FUNCTION YOU WANT , GO TO ORIELEYS AND GET A REBUILT ONE FOR A MUSTANG II. AND PAY THE CORE CHARGE AND REMEMBER YOU HAVE TO GET THE OUTER ROD ENDS AS WELL SINCE THEY DON'T CO ME WITH THEM
