If your from the areas hit in Lousiana, Miss., Alabama, wherever Katrina caused damage, please let me know what I can send you. I've given the Red Cross dough like everyone else, but I'd like to help some of you guys directly.

What personal items do you need at this moment?
    Socks? t-shirts?
    Batteries?
Back issues of Rod and Custom?
You name it, within reason, I'll mail it to you...

PM me with your needs and your address, and I'll do whatever I can.

Hey Kirk and the rest of the guys. I'm OK here in Oregon but my sister is in Ocean Springs, Miss. just outside of Biloxi. My brother in law is in the NAvy and stationed there. She lost everything and was left homeless with my 2,4, and 6 year old nieces and nephews. To top it all off her husbands ship was sent out to sea to avoid the hurricane. There was no port to return to so they went to Fla. and told him he was on his own to get home and to be back in 10 days. The best part is they are going to send his ship to the Persian gulf in 3 weeks for 6 months. My sister said "the hell with it" and is moving back home to Oregon. Of course the insurance company that insured the house is unlikely to cover the flood but more likely that they will declare bankruptcy. Then the gov't will step in and I can just imagine how long that will take. Anyhow; she's not a Hamb'r but if you want to help we set up an account at Washington Mutual banks for the family of Jeremy and Christie Aujero.
    Thanks, Marty

Thanks guys, I missed a weeks work and just got power last night about 8:30 PM. Everything is finally getting back to normal around my house and I am around 150 miles from the coast, so I can imagine the damage beachfront. Has anyone heard from my31and37 ?? He said he was staying at his house in biloxi last time I heard, just wandering if he made it OK.

I'm okay right now, we had a sewage back in our home. We are walking on concrrete floors. My need some flooring questions. I have to leave it to the wife here pretty soon. I don't think things will be back to normal soon. I can hand deliver items to those in need if you all are intrested. My wife had a few homeless folks start school today. I will try to take some pictures of a junk yard I like on hwy 90 is Pascaguola. tim

  13. The HAMB Helper database that Denise put together list is these people in AL, MS, and LA that haven't posted since Katrina hit.

W Vaughan Benton MS 39039 last posted 2/07/05 but far enough North, should be OK.

If you know these people, and can get hold of them in some way, let us know if they need any help.

  14. I have boys and girls clothing, toys, and baby stuff too, stroller, bouncer, rocker, stuffed animals, high chair, bedding, toys, etc.

My oldest is 6 so everything will fit 6 and younger.

The Red Cross and Goodwill can get bent they dont want the stuff, just $$$.
They take an enormous cut of it.

I can throw in some garage uniforms, jackets, and my wife can send some of her dresses, jeans, shoes, etc.

If someone has a truck going that way, let me know.
4 or 5 big boxes of stuff. I'll go in for some canned food and water, powdered milk, if it goes that way.
There are a few food banks out here I can talk to for more if it happens.

Most if not all HAMBers affected won't have internet access for awhile unless they end up staying somewhere that does. I have in laws coming this weekend that lost everything in New Orleans. Its a very sad and heartbreaking ordeal. If I had the money, I'd build a big building to house as many families as I could...:(

We've got boxes of closes the girls had when they were young. This is what we were saving then for I guess. We'll make sure they are ok and washed, there are stuffed animal toys there too. PM me with an address and I'll send you what we have. Hope this helps. Bob:)

  17. My mom and sister and niece all lived in Ocean Springs too, one mile from the beach near St. Andrews Golf Course. They lost everything except for a few clothes, their purses, and my niece's doll. Trying to get them to California. Anybody coming to BilletProof from the midwest who wants to pick up 2 women and a 7 year old near Biloxi??

Hey Leadsled good to hear from you. Let me know if you need anything. Travis let us know about your family if you are able to get them out to Ca. Maybe we can get some money gathered up to help offset price of getting them to Ca.

I'm working with a group of Swiss workers on a project right now. One still gets his hometown newspaper even though he lives in the US. It seems as of yesterday 60 countries have offered some form of help., even Venesuela offered $1million. If you remember Ven. is the country that Pat Robertson suggested ***asinating the leader. Haven't seen any of this in our newspapers or TV.

you really need a swiss newspaper to get information about that? several countries offered help immediately after katrina, but the US rejected it. Germany sent a plane with care packets even before the US allowed them to land on the airport. I'm glad the goverment changed their mind an accepts help now!

good luck to all hambers in the area, I hope the guy in biloxi is ok...I think alot about his last post where he said he will stay...

you might start searching the web and maybe making some phone calls. i saw on the news that there are planes and buses going all over the country taking victims where they need to go for FREE. there was one large family they interviewed that was flown from Baton Rouge to L.A.. they planned to make a new life there. look into it.

  25. For anyone interested in offering housing, or making donations...

    http://www.shareyourhome.org

I just signed up and offered to let someone come freeze their *** off in Northern Wisconsin and eat dead deer.

There's alot of people who just don't have anyplace to go... help if you can.

There's a volunteer section, too. If you're close by, and can help transport people to their new accommodations, please do.
It may, also, help to recharge your karma...:)

Yea, you can contact the Red Cross and let them know you want to do something for the Hurricane victims.
