I go into Hobby Lobby whenever I am near one. Their frames are too expensive, around $15.00. I bought all my frames at Meijer's for $6.99. Wal-Mart and K-Mart don't carry them in the stores around here.

I see that you have one of McMullen's Hot Rod albums. Do you also have the other 4? Including....HOT ROD ALLEY, SHUT DOWN, BIG HOT ROD HITS AND THE ASTRONAUTS-COMPETITION COUPE?

i JUST WENT THROUGH A TIME WARP!!!! I went to a car show in Huntington, IN. Cold, damp, low turn out, so I went to Fairmount, IN (home of James Dean) because there used to be an antique toy mall I used to go to. It's gone now. Then I saw the sign, Hi-Fi Stereo record store. AMAZIING!! All kinds of kool memoribilia on the walls, and a whole mess of records!!! This is what I picked up:

It is still sealed brand new!!:D All of her albums are!! She has been in business for over 40 years. This is her store stock that never sold. She has a clear cover on the albums and inside is a piece of paper showing the date they bought it! I got this album for $18.00. I thought it was a steal. I had others picked out, but she doesn't take credit cards! She has an old electro-mechanical cash register (NCR?) that she has to beat on the enter button to get it to work. It is so kool there! I am going back with cash! There were only a couple Challengers albums that are Hot Rod related. None of the jazz or show tune (where I found this one) records had any hot rods on them. I will be going back to look through the rock & roll albums for some hidden treasures!

great thread, I'm really glad it's got pulled back from the dead! Have any of you guys out there heard the free single that came with that "Surfink" album? It's by a band called the casuals out of Kentucky and is my absolute top favourite hot Rod/street race rock 'n' roll record ever, absolutely wild. I managed to find a clip of it on YouTube, take a listen. You'll be glad you did:cool:.

It's been a long since the last post. I hope now that garage sale/flea market season is here, more finds can be posted.

Here is one I got last weekend at a community garage sale:

As I sifted through the Christmas, sound track, inspirational, C&W records I found it almost all the in the back of the box. I calmly asked how much the records were. She replied " a nickel". WOO-HOO!!:D

It plays w/o skipping. The only defect is the bottom of the cover is half wore open.

I have Little Deuce Coupe/Beach Boys, Drag City/Jan & Dean, Surfin' Safari/Beach Boys, More American Graffiti, BJ Thomas with a 50's Buick on Cover, a couple ZZ Tops, (1) with their coupe and another with a futuristic coupe and Solid Gold Rock and Roll with a whitewalled 57 Chevy on Cover. It's tough finding Hot Rod LP's back here. I look every time I go to a swap meet, auction, antique store, etc. No luck. I'm going to keep looking, though.

  12. It's been a while since I've thought about this thread. However, my most recent LP acquisition is this Bobby Fuller Four album, KRLA, King of the Wheels. I was going hang it up on the wall with the others I have, but I like listening to it too much. I highly recommend this one if you can find it.

I picked this up at an antique show today:

I couldn't find any on ebay. I found one web site that would sell me a CD copy for $65.00.

There is no date on it anywhere, not even on the record.

Anyone have any info on it?

Here's my only drag record -- it looks like no one has posted it yet. I'm showing the front and back.

When I was home on leave, I found a 33 1/3 L.P. of "hot rods and Dragsters in stereo" and I took it into work at Chassis Research and drove every one crazy except Roger Wolford.
