Projects 20's NASH Drag Car.

I figured it would be time to throw up a few pictures of the Project I started Years ago.
Recently Ive been back on the Project and Its finally taking shape..

I started with a horrible cowl, door sections and window pieces from a model a, and a 30s international pickup. It was Mut from the begining, and still is. I beleive that the cowl and doors are from a 1929 NASH 4 door sedan. But Im not 100% positive.


Its Not what you call Traditional, but its still radical. And it will certainly be fun going down the strip...

I like it, lots of work to get it to the primer stage. Looks like something we would have kit bashed back in the 1960's with leftover AMT Model kits. That is NOT ment to be taken as a negative obresvation. There are other builds out there that started with bits and pieces and have been turned into nice finished vehicles,there isn't a term for this style build, but there should be. There is a bit of an Ed Roth look to it. Keep us updated. Bob

Niiiice! I admire guys who can build " Heinz 57" cars out of a little of this and alittle of that.

 

I sold a 31 Nash 4 dr sedan to I guy in Jersey a few years ago. It was cut in half and he was going to make a bantam altered style car out of it. He was going to put corvette suspension front & rear. Not really what I would have done to it but it was his car at that point. I think he also had a flat black corvette that he drove.

 

Whats a funny story is that I found the cowl and doors off of ebay for cheep, from a guy in CT. Never had a corvette or had any idea for this to be that style though. I know for a fact the past owner was a Hamber but I forgot his name. Its been years.

Thanks guys for digging it. I deffinitly understand what you ment about the Ed Roth/60s left over AMT kits. It was idea all along, but just in a larger scale...

Floors done, Frames done. Now for brakes and steering.. Little worried since its a tight fit, but Ill make it work somehow..

some more. Headers are just tacked. Floors roughed out enough to lift the body and finish welding it.

Still deciding on color. Root beer brown? Green or burgandy? Dont have a clue!

Man, I was gettin down with this one until I reach the picture with the sbc in it. That alone ruined everything for me. What a cool and different car to host such a common and simple engine. JMHO though

I was going to originally run a 350 buick engine, but the performance parts were hard to come by. this 406 will do just fine.
