I bought 4 chevy wheels thinking they were 54's. They are 15" by about 5.5 or 6. The centers are welded, not riveted. They measure about 10" over the nubs Can someone id these?
...that rim is from the 70' era,the irregualar center hole is the clue; it'll fit your 54. 54 rims were the first to be welded I believe, not riveted.
Sorry, I'm not going to be much help on the exact year but I do believe those are later rims. Perhaps mid-60's? Not sure about the cars, but the Chevy truck wheels had hubcap clips until 1960, then they went to the "nubs", like yours. P.S. I like your signature line!
As I recall from owning one of each back in the 1960s....the 53 Chevys had clip wheels and caps, but they changed to the "nub" style rim in 1954. So.....54 and up caps should work.
The squared off center insert screams mid to late 70's. Look in the drop center (the area normally covered by the tire) and you will most likely find a date stamp of some kind. The letters and numbers stamped by the valve stem hole can also be used to figure the manufacture date if really necessary.
