1947 Chevy 3100 Nova Sub Frame Disk Brakes Tilt Wheel 350 V8 Turbo 350 Automatic 10 bolt Air Ride Kit - "Not Installed" but included Please advise me what is a estimate value of what you see. Thanks Much Jim
Well it is far from my taste on an AD truck, but if the subframe was done properly and chassis is stripped and coated I'd say around 8-9k just for truck. The airride kit, what all is it including. Air ride is an expensive brand so do the research on what all the parts would cost and factor that in. Its hard to price stuff like this cause it has been done to someone elses liking, which others may not want to pay for. The time involved to make a truck to this point is worth far more than what he would ideally get.
I understood.....I just dont want to loose my shirt on the initial purchase...If i need to sell it in a year or 2 I want recover the initial $$$$
Well cars are a bad investment especially for one year of ownership. They are a Monet pit. You have to have someone install air ride, new paint, and interior as far as I see.
I've been looking around for a decent driver AD chevy, they seem to be selling pretty high right now. To street roddy for me and it has a 55 or later bed on it, but looks like it's probably worth around $8,000-$10,000,
You wont get your money out of it or turn a profit unless you keep it for 30 years and get rid of all the street rod crap off of it. If you have the money to burn and want a truck to enjoy for a couple years though, then why not?
If they accept 7k that would be a hell of a deal. As said in early posts there's allot of work done to this truck, maybe not to some people's liking but none the less its still allot of work. Hell 7k wouldn't cover the labor if you were to start with most trucks you'd find out there. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
If the Nova clip was done right, if it performs well, and if it's not full of bondo and chicken wire, then 10k is a STEAL. Look in the classifieds here to get an idea of what 10k will buy you.
i dont think 10k was a lot for it at all smoothed firewall, looks to be solid, good motor and trans, and it is a 47 5 window too upto you if you want to do anything to it, but for me the seats, rear lights and other bits would have to go straight away nothing better than an original interior for me, and those dials with the smooth dash well thats a whole other story all on its own right there good luck with it though and hope you get the fun out of it that your looking for Matt
10 is a steal if you like it and the work is solid. There has been a ton of work go into this truck no doubt, but was it done well? The street roddy stuff is easily fixed except for the dash. From the little pics it looks pretty good. Now if you plan on redoing everything like paint, interior drivetrain... youll be upside down quick.
10K is a good price. It is without doubt done to a street rod build..which isn't what this site is about. There still are many people out there, that are into that look..so should be able to drive it and not lose money on it (if you're so inclined). I would guess on E-Bay today, it would sell for a minimum of $13K.
Well, as the others said it's a bit street roddy for this site but the guys over at http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=13 Will love it the way it sits and most likely tell you that 10K is a fair price. Still, check the cab under, over around and through for rust and the quality of the work that was done on it. Check the subframe job to see if it looks like it was done right or just scabbed on the truck. The wheels and tires that are on it don't add value as far the way I look at it. They are worth what you could craigslist them for as far as what they contribute to the value of the truck. They are ok but look as dated as the Enkie 32's that are on my 48 and have been for 20 years. The paint, of my two best friends one would love it and one would hate that combination but it may be a hard sell if you have to sell it in a hurry. Still it doesn't appear to have any "personalization" that would be a detriment to reselling it. No murals, overdone pinstripes or other things that would turn some prospective buyers off. If it is really solid and runs and drives great a lot of AD truck guys would look at as having potential to freshen up with a new paint job and different wheels and tires and have a nice truck to call their own at the current asking price.
I would suggest having the subframe install checked by a qualified front end tech or frame tech. If it is good it is an ok deal- if not it is overpriced junk. Spend some dollars with a pro who can tell the difference.
