another thread reminded me of this. it might be a little OT, but I really enjoyed this this chase and thought it would be fun to watch in split screne with the original from Bullet. Thought I'd share since apparenlty I was one of the two dozen or so people who watched this show thus forcing leading to it's fast demise. figured the rest of you missed out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdQjChxV3-E
that's good , but it doesn't beat the original car chase in Bullitt (yes, that is how is how it's spelled) if you want a great car chase...check out the original Gone in 60 Seconds....not the remake with Nicolas Cage
it was from the Fox series Alcatraz last year. I'm pretty sure Ford paid heavily for that one, but was part of the plotline of that episode. I love the fact that when they built the new pony's they specifically engineered the exhaust not for performance, but to sound like the original car in bullitt
Cool stunt work, but it tries too hard to be the "Bullitt" chase scene...only thing missing is a green Mustang versus the blue.
Too bad it sounded like crap. Not even close to the one in the movie. But then, that was overdubbed with a GT40.
I thought the green VW bug was a nice touch. It was making pretty good time and it wasn't even speeding, just like Bullitt.
For what it was it was pretty cool. It was obviously a play on the original and they threw some elements of Bullitt in there, like the VW, Ford Vs Dodge, etc. Wasn't as good as the original, but it was still fun. Kinda tongue in cheek . Don
The hubcaps is what I noticed also Did you check out the comparison video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upmMj8GMLb4&feature=endscreen&NR=1
I still get a kick out of the chase scene in the Blues Brothers movie. I think I read somewhere that they destroyed over 300 Police cars shooting the it.
Hey guys I just bought a dvd of the seven-ups about 5 hours ago. In fact its still in my dvd player put in pause at the moment, haha. How about that ventura? some say its a nova or a gto but if you look real hard during the chase you can see ventura on the pass. side fender. Ol roy schieder turns that car into a convertible in 2 seconds.
Only blind people say it's a Nova, they show the nose and taillights more than enough times for the difference to be obvious. What that has to do with this thread, though, I dunno... there is a long thread somewhere on movie car chases and this movie is discussed there.
Thats funny, I don't remember Steve McQueen being a woman? Maybe I should be more observant in future!! Doc.
