Looks like time to get the load off the suspension and get out the measure and level to find out

That looks like a serious bend to me. Especially the way the paint and such is disturbed on both sides especially the drivers side. FUBAR

Right at where you show the detail shots.

You can see the kink on the left side where arrow 1 is pointing and you scan see where it bulged out and the scale on the frame got popped off at arrow 2.
I'd say that the car it was on either went nose into a bank or hit something head on but high enough so it didn't bend the front of the frame noticeably. You have some nice scrap metal there.

From looking at the side shot where it shows the front that thing is bent quite a bit. The core support brackets on the frame horns should be parallel with the body mount brackets on the frame it's self and the top of the frame horns should be pretty close to parallel with the frame rails.

The right hand side is also kinked at where the holes are punched in the side to access bolts or something. you can see the kink in the top of the rail and the disturbed top of the outside of the rail.

Couple hrs on a frame bench or cut the buckles out and weld In a new pieces.

Looks a little bent by the jackstand too.

must have been a hell of a head-on hit!

  8. I was gonna give you hell and say just measure it. But it's bent big time. No need to measure it to find out. You can save it.... call around and get some pricing from body shops or alighnment shops equiped to "pull" a frame. It's not hard. Anybody that knows their ass from a hole in the ground can have that straight in no time. Just tow it to the shop as is, much easier to work on.

Yes it's bent and not worth saving as S-10's are a dime a dozen. Ha I couldn't resist.
No really, Why spend money to straighten an S-10 frame under a project? Just find anouther one whether it be a running driving beater S-10 so you actually know it will steer and not wear tires off when your done with your car. Should be able to find an S-10 frame cheap from a junk yard

there are not many good frame shops left, if you have one. its a 275.00 pull with no body on it.

Now you don't have to Z the frame in the front.

It's a $100 frame at the u-pull yard. You don't need the rear suspension. I would keep front suspension with new frame, that stuff you have might be tweeked.

Have you still got the original frame? If so, put it back underneath.

If not, get one - you'll be grateful you did later.

yep thats where s10 frames bend. I fixed a few when I worked at a bodyshop. They where always hard to get pulled back aslo make sure it isnt Zed out of square. Atleast you wont need lowering spindles with it bent like that HAHA. like said use the original frame.

All good options, actually. Go with the original, depending on condition, get another S10 frame, or haul it to a GOOD frame shop, and have it straightened.
Absolutely, replace all the suspension and steering parts ! Don't cut corners on those.
