I did my 36 roadster. The trick is to drop the rear mounts. I dropped mine 4 inches and then layed the center bow forward.
Yes...... 2 inches off .... sorry. ... correct to mention that .....the most important part to get 'the look'.....
My Buddy did that to his roadster as well came out fantastic! I have another friend that has a 36 cabriolet that cut his front post 3 3/4 in. and really laid down hid top bow but is has skirts on his , real tail drag-er . I just want to give my car a little at***ude thinking of 21/2 to 3
Take a side shot of your Cabriolet and have someone talented to photoshop the look you are going after. Yours will be a little more complicated because of side window fitment afterwards ......................................... There's 10 Chopped Cabriolet on Carnut http://www.carnut.com/photo/list/ford/ford36/f36bc.html
My dad chopped his 36 cabrio in 1958. It looks like he took about 3-1/2" out of the windshield. 1960 2008 The 1960 photo still has the cut-down chrome windshield frame. The 2008 photo has a black rubber windshield gasket. I am planning on replacing the gasket with a chrome frame if I can find a good frame.
Is the Cabriolet windshield frame the same or diff. from a coupe? I have a couple nice 3/W frames...................................
It's different. Cabriolets, convertible sedans and station wagons use the same frame but the upper section is flatter across the top than coupes and sedans.
