My search has produced no results. I need a color/code for the grill color on my 52. It appears to be a cream white color from the remaining paint on the original grill but its faded so bad its difficult to determine. I've seen some pics of repainted 52's and the color looks like white not a cream, i.e. the picture of the red 52 on the cover of the Midwest Early Ford catalog. Any help appreciated. Happy New Year! I believe that the color is called Sungate Ivory. You can find information on the paint codes here. Good luck, -DV
Thanks DV, you nailed it. Just for those that might be interested, DV's reference showed the color as Sungate Ivory, Ford Code M0068. The PPG lacquer code is 81897 but apparently not available. The acrylic enamel / basecoat PPG code is 80090. There was also a Dupont cross reference that shows 1322, 246-55874, and 83-55874. I ***ume the PPG acrylic enamel number is a good number. I will call tomorrow and see if the code works. Thanks again DV. BOutlaw
Hey, Check carefully the flange areas of these grilles, as they were sprayed off the vehicle, then installed . These areas usually provide unfaded paint samples in the original colour. If the shop you're dealing with hasn't got a mixing formula it's no biggie! Any painter worth a **** should be able to mix this match-there's not much colorant in that colour " Meanwhyle, back onboard The Tainted Pork "
