Who makes a thin 32 ford radiator core?

I am building an AV8 30 flathead coupe. I am running into a fan clearance problem with my mechanical fan and radiator mounting points.
I haven't ordered a radiator yet and wonder if there is a maker with a thin core.
I need to place the radiator in front of the mounting slots on the model a cross member by about one inch. So I was thinking of having a radiator built with extended mounting base tabs behind the bottom tank and core and as thin a core as possible.

I could also drill out the slots in the front cross member to give me a little more forward placement.

I can't push the engine back ( is mounted with drive train etc.) and I don't want to go with an electric fan (this is a traditional build).

Any ideas? I have read all the past posts. I am looking for new ideas and if anyone has solved this problem with a thinner radiator core and extended mounting tabs pushing the radiator forward.
    Thanks for the help!!

I think you might have to move the radiator ahead just that little bit. alot of people use 64-66 mustang radiators. I would thing a 6 cyl. one would be 2 core thats about as thin as they make as far as I know. Itll also be copper/br*** not alum. Good luck Ken

    Thanks Noland.
Can the Mustang radiator be modified to work with a flathead?
BTW, I love your build. I look forward to more pictures and ideas!

  5. I think they just fit. I have one that my son took out of a duece shell.

  6. Let's try solving the problem from the other side. What are you running for a fan?

    Here is my set up.
The red level is just in front of the mounting slots on the front cross member.
The back edge of the slots are just behind the front plane of the fan.
I can only load this attachment picture. The other files are too big.

  8. If you are not running a hood I would move the rad and shell forward a couple inches, I did on mine and you won't notice it. With a flatty you want to be sure you have enough cooling capabilities.

Ditch the fan you have now. Get a generator that has a fan on it. Problem likely solved

  12. I am running Drake truck waterpumps so I had to use the set up like yours, all I did was relocate the mounting tabs forward and I think I used 32 Ford radiator stays, they are longer than A's.

  13. Just weld some tabs on the cross member in front of the existing rad holes.

    Jimmy,

i thought of that, but it would center the fan too high on the radiator to be the most effective.
