Man, Steve, I want to see you keep the fenders and running boards on your car soooo badly. Just MY opinion, but for me if i'm building a "T" bucket I prefer glass. If I got a steel body and nothing else I might consider a bucket, but complete like yours, go full fendered.

Just found out that Don is in poor health and the roadster is up for sale. Asking $30K. I don't find that over priced for a roadster with the history and the craftsmanship that Don put into it. The body is now fiberglass with the redo he did in the late '60s. Looking at the pictures above I think the original body was steel but like a lot of builders he went with the new and longer fiberglass bodies. Although I have no control I would like it to go to a deserving collector that "GET'S IT" and would leave it alone or take it back to the early version.

 

Pretty kool '60s style T I saw in Pleasanton a few weeks ago.

Why do I like both of these cars? I think it's because they have "the right stuff" meaning the right parts and it is just before T's were getting stupid crazy. If that is a new Vette. in the background maybe '63 or '64. Wouldn't it be great to find one of them in a garage stored away someplace. I knew where one was up through the '80s or '90s. All steel, 327, six twos. The old guy (that was like a second father to me) died and his son who I grew up with in the '50s probably got it. Last I heard he was repairing auto transes. in Arizona. John Martinez. If anybody knows him tell him where to find me.

Weez, I'm looking forward to your version of a t bucket it would seem that you have done plenty of thinking about it!

I thought I'd add some Aussie content, Peter Swift's T Bucket built in '65 and he still owns it today!

That is the BEST LOOKIN T I have ever seen, not a belly button car

 

I'm a big fan of Mike Griswolds work, that's his at the bottom (circa 1964/65) it later went on to sport twin blowers, it's cool to see a real picture of it and not one from a mag. Here it is with twin blowers, all gold plated too....

 

Here's one I'm working on. I stretched the wheel base 6in. and dropped it down still a lot of work to be done.

Have done a little more on mine over the last few months - trans tunnel and upholstery finished now.
