wondering if anyone knows specifics about these cars. i got a lead on a body of a 1929 two door sedan he said it it has a cool oval shape rear window, i have not been able to find any pictures of them. the only one i have found was a 31 with the oval tail light. it sounds cool, maybe channel it onto a model A frame?!?! i am going to check it out this saturday, its an hour away and hes asking $800, i just would like to get more info on these. it may be a 31 even though he said its a 29. i did find out they only made 7800 of the 1929s

I am pretty sure 30 was the start year of the oval rear window for Plymouth, have a look on carnut.com in the car pic index. you should be able to find a lot of pictures on 30-31 Plymouths. Not too many two door sedans floating around either, another way to tell the year is by the thickness of the radiator grille shell.

  3. Correct...1931 was the year for Plymouth rear oval window.

  4. Checked my spotters guide and 30 and 31 for the oval rear window. Sounds cool. JW

I'm really not sure what style I want. I love the chopped and channeled look but it may look cool just channeled. If i decide to chop I will definatly keep the rear window as it is. I work at MPI restorations and we specialize in vintage Ferrari restorations. I think I will use some old dunlop tires from the race cars like this, it will give it a different vibe I will get some pics up soon of ideas. Not sure about frame yet. Might get a model A frame and z it.
    Lots of ideas!!!

The oval rear window first appeared on the '30 Plym.. If the body is a '30, the windshield will roll up a couple of inches into the header panel. The 1931, Plym, PA also had the rear oval window.. If the body is a PA, the windshield will be hinged at the top, opening at the bottom.

  13. Here are some picks of a neat Plymouth pickup here in Oz.You can just make out the oval window in these pics.

I have a '28 Plymouth ute. Still have a way to go with this one.

BTW anyone know how to "un-thumbnail" these pics? ImageShack have changed their formatting and the old trick of removing the letters "th." from the text is no longer available.

this is a 1929 dodge rear window pic. 29 was the only year that had etchings on the interior door handles hope this helps you out.there's a couple pics of the body lines. this ones a four door essex model i think, haven't had time to get it home and into the shop.

    hi there,
recently picked up a 29 dodge wondering if you had any interior pics of that era, parts laying around,or some info on where to look... thanks........ wayne

  16. Just to correct you on a point....1929 Dodge Brothers DA door handles are very similar if not identical to my 1931 interior handles (and 1930). Go here for bright stuff......http://www.vintageandclassicreproductions.com/Dodge.htm

I have attached a pix of the '31 Plym PA 2dr sdn that I have.. I have a very large file of '30-31 Plym pix, gathered up over the last few years to assist with the restoration of the PA I have..
As I have mentioned in my earlier posting to this topic, the '30 Q and '31 PA are very similar, the big difference being in the roll-up, vs. swing-out windshield...

Long story short, no floor, no structure what so ever. I found that my mile lift works way to good for this thing :) After monkeying around with this and that and that and this I squared it all up and braced it in. I will get pictures of that up tomorrow
Here are some pictures of the bike lift

Not only is that back window cool, but the shape of the door tops and side windows always appealed to me also ! well done. :)

It will be a slow build. But I plan on chop channel body, maybe a customized model A frame with mono leaf front and even though its frowned upon maybe airbags in the rear.
The dunlops are race take offs. They were on a Ferrari 250 gto some call them $23 million dollar cars
