The body after I had pulled it off of the chassis, and set it on a dolly. Its a original California car, but has some rust to be repaired.
Made the rear brake lines out of stainless braided line, and stainless hard line. I also started making the 3/8 air line for the rear air bags, as it is easier to do it now then with the body on.
The day I had been waiting a couple years for. The body back on the chassis, after some sheet metal had been removed.
nice work. running the brake line like that is a slick idea. what are your plans for the body? chopping, sectioning, stock?
I'm in the process of finishing up welding in a custom recessed firewall, toe boards, and floor boards. I have not fabbed up the motor mounts yet, cause I'm going to run a Chevy 348, and it would be in the way to finish weld the panels. I do have plans to chop its, but I'm slowly working my way there.
East coast Doug, I used a TCI mustang II kit, and the Rear is a currie ford nine inch housing, third member, And axels. The triangulated four link, is something I made On my own. I designed the four link brackets on Solid Works.
Thanks for all the compliments, there are a lot Of talented people here on the hamb, and it's great To see everones work too, and get ideas.
Suspension all set up, just need to fab in my rear sway bar from Speedway engineering. Anyone have any knowledge as to how long or short to have the sway bar arms. I'm running a sway bar like the one in the picture, with straight arm.
Im going to nose it, and deck it to get the flow of the body, and eventually im going to chop it, using the stock shaped back glass, just cut a repop glass to fit the chop. Not sure how much im going to chop it, I dont want it to look smooshed. I think I will make cuts till Im happy with it. Any suggestion?
53chevtrev, your up there in langly BC right? Have you come across the ROADMEN CAR CLUB. Awesome looking 53!!!!
Awesome work!! My 54 has been a driving project doing a little at a time. You are giving me the itch to start tearin shit apart!! PS I don't know if the trees would laugh, but I sure did when I read your quote!!! -Kenny
Firewall looks awesome. I am part of the Kingsmen Vancouver and we know the Roadmen CC Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Your build, is the type that keep my inspiration Going, during times I have no time to be out in the Shop. Awesome fabrication skills. I was up in Langley last Summer with my club The Roadmen, maybe we will See you guys up there this summer. Keep up the great work And posts.
Kenny, do it start having fun and tearing into things. The only thing I would suggest is keep it a driver as long as You can. I have not been able to drive mine for a long time. We live and learn I guess. That is unless you have another hot rod to drive while building The other. Think that's the reason I tore mine so far down. Thanks For the compliment.
California valley. Ha ha ha I wish I could help out with your Build, only thing is Washington isn't too close too California. Have fun With your car and take pictures and post them, so you can keep the rest Of us motivated when the weather goes to crap.
