A friend of mine recently aquired this very nice 1940 Chevy 2 door sedan. Of course he wants to modify it and he asked me to come up with a few ideas. I know this isn't excatly a "Hamb" friendly version, but he wanted a more custom look with nice paint. This is a Photoshop Before and after look.

The car is sectioned, pie cut hood, top removed, fenders extended, headlights frenched and molded, shaved and about 6 other minor changes.

It completely destroys the lines of a great car (even worse than chopping the top!)

  8. Yeah no, that second version is going to get zero respect around here. Custom does not have to mean '80s streetrod.

  10. no offense , but you did ask for opinions

what you are proposing i call doing a lot of work/spending money to make it worst

if your friend wants a zoomie looking car he should just buy a Porsche

Not a fan of the after. Swap the wheels on the before and run with it.

No offense taken. Hey, I asked for your opinions. It's just an idea I had after my buddy gave me his ideas. It's his first entry into the old car world and he wanted ideas. This is the place to get them. The electronic drawing board is always ready for a new idea! Keep them coming.

maybe just a clean paint job and some better wheels would be enough transformation to me.

  14. ...leave it as the top pic.

  15. Change the wheels and quit while you're ahead.

A set of cast Torque Thrusts or Halibrands should do the job.

That after is bad dude. Better wheels and bias on the first pic is the way to go.

Kinda like the fender extensions but she's old enough that she shouldn't run around topless....it'll scare the kids.

There are other sites out there for that...
