Im enjoying seeing these..Always like that look.. Keep them coming.. I found it always looked great on a 50s truck.
I tried to research this Keystone Automotive. Not much info out there. Any other info, you can provide?
Keystone got bought out or changed its name to lkq automotive I think. they supply some of the dealers Ive worked for. type lkq primers in google Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
It must be top secret. I found everything about the buyout, nothing about where the stores are located.
Lkq supplys a lot of new or refurbished OEM parts to the collision trade I've used there clear before but have yet to use there primers Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
I don't have a picture on this computer but i ran Rustoleum red primer on my 53 Suburban for 13 years and it held up well with just some fading.
Been sitting in this primer for a few years now. (And yes, LKQ bought out Keystone. My uncle is the warehouse operations manager)
Keystone is a large aftermarket auto parts supply house... Kinda like Certifit. They supply bumpers, fenders, headlights etc... for mostly late model collision repair. I did not paint the truck, but it came with an extra gallon of the stuff and it was from Keystone. I couldn't find out much about it on their site either, but if you have one close to you give them a call. It was called "Hot Rod Red Oxide". It did require a primer.
I have painted over it with "marine enamel". No issues at all. i have used it on a truck that I have had for 27 years, and it holds up better than the rest of the truck. And that's without covering it with a finish coat.
Mine...just like most others...red rustoleum primer with red wheels. Also a pic of it with black rustoleum satin. Steve-
I use MRO red oxide primer on everything, my Model A pickup has been to Bonneville, many times and salt won't touch it,had to redo the powder coating but not the MRO!! its made by Sherwin Williams. pics of my truck on my profile. Chris
