  4. I think you should just pull the motor from that black coupe and ram it into the frame until you get your jet engine done. Great project. Love to see another pic of the black coupe.

A part of Hot Rodding that you don't hear all that much about.. Restoration is GOOD, Improvement necessary....
I would like to think the original ch***is could get 'restored' as a display... any chance?

If it was mine I think I would have made it street legal with halibrand midget rims and some kinda *****in' motorcycle engine. Just saying. That would screw up the troops!

Lippy, You sound like my dad:). He keeps telling me to get an umbrella policy on my insurance. I tell him the motor is only gonna spin 100,000 RPM.

I couldn't find an adapter to kit to put the Hemi in it.. You can check out my profile and see more pics of the coupe.

I made plans on the Cleveland Autorama so I need to have it squared away by March. At this point it is coming along nicely. I got 90% of the parts I need just and I had a buddy pick the body up to do the paint job, that is way out of my leauge, I'm more the kind of guy who desingns jet engines.:D (not really but I'm tryin it!)

This thing is Awesome! I like the midget Halibrand idea. More miniature cars need jet engines...

You know I told the Bangshift guys if there ever in Akron to stop by and I would take them for a ride to show them how streetable the Hotord is. Never heard back..... Wimps.... (I'll take that back, they got a great site and the coverage of the March meet kicks ****)

Anyhow, Here is an update to the Pocket Rocket. I entered in the Cleveland Autorama so I need to get this ****er done. Right now I'm looking pretty good. Here are some pics of the progress.

My buddy Dino from here in Akron is handling the paint work for me. The car has 7 differant colors including 3 differant candy colors!

Did this car used to be stored in Sellersville, PA? As a kid (I'm 44 now) I remember two, half-scale Vega Funny Cars in his showroom. The place is now a pizza place. I built a half scale Topolino with Halibrand Midget rims because of the impression the Vega had on me. Good luck with your project. Tommy

Not sure were it was all of these years. It looks like it has sat outside for most of the time by the weathering on the paint.

Thanks Dave, That means a lot coming from a guy who does some of the best wheelies in a 32!

As far as the engine it is a Turbo Jet. I started with a large Turbo and added a fuel and oil system. By adding a combustion chamber between the cold outlet and hot intake it has the same princaples as a jet, ****, Squeeze, Bang and blow.

In addition to that I will be adding a afterbruner, which basicaly is just giving more charge to the exaust by adding more fuel and lighting it. I'm very anxious to start this thing!

Wow, Is that cool! Last year at The Reunion in BG a guy had a real nice one done with a Supercharged Honda motor on Alky. Umbro Mfg. did the kits. The front rims are fibergl***!

Mine had the body but the original ch***is was custom for the Rocket engine.

Still got a lot to do before the Cleveland Autorama but I should have it done no problem. The body is almost painted, once that is done the ch***is can get sprayed then I need to hope everything still bolts up the way it did on my last mock up...

The pics don't evan start to show the detail in the paint!
