need help 8lug build up scheme 1961 Pontiac Kelsey Hayes

  1. Hey all, tried searching the HAMB & The Web. could not find it, so here we go:

    I pulled apart my Kelsey Hayes 8 lugs to have the brake shoes re done. Took a while and did not take any good pics.. NooB Mistake i wont make again LOL

    Now you geussed it LOL cant seem to get them together.

    No scheme in my garage book, and cant seem to find a scheme on the web.

    Can Anyone help me out with a PDF or picture or even a Youtube clip to educate me :)

    Are you talking about how the brake shoes, springs, etc. go together? I looked at my shop manuals and for some reason can't find a good picture of the brake ***embly either.

    Try this picture, it's from a 1960 Pontiac manual but the parts should be about the same: http://www.PontiacSafari.com/MPC/Pages/page_0383.jpg

    Also, you can go to http://www.PontiacSafari.com/ and look at factory shop manuals for 1955, 1956, 1957 Pontiacs online (click on the Pontiac Info on the left side of the screen.) Again, they are different years but the parts inside the brake should be about the same.

    hi here is front brakes of my pontiac 1957.
    as you can see short shoe in front and long in rear
    no self adjusting untill 1963 the have diffrent springs

    her is a pic of my rear 1962 brakes this is the self adjusting type(1963-1964) so this is not the same as yours only the bracket pushing adjuster is changed and springs for it hope this help.
