Speaking of Satin paint and I did try the search, and tried looking it up o the web, but I have decided I want to degloss my paint on my Studebaker truck. Is there a flattening agent that can be purchased seperately, and added to my current paint, using Ace anti rust enamel, it slightly kill the gloss. Or is there a genaric something like talc, that can be mixed in? Doing this on the cheap. Was rolling, but may switch to my sprayer.

    thanks man!

  3. I may be mistaken, but I believe you can just add flatner to the regular clear gloss.

I notice there is a mixture of finishes being submitted in this thread. I don't dig the flat paint that has been sanded smooth like a primer about to be painted. I like the true satin with a bit of an edge to it, almost like a Tupperware™ bowl finish. To me, that's the finish people want to reach out and touch. "Wow, this paint is like velvet?"
