History Fire run with the 1927 fire chief

My wife found this this morning, thought it was pretty interesting. Can't see any stop lights or stop signs with arms, and why are there so many people in the middle of the street?

Neat ! No traffic signals , rail still had the right of way ... People on the street were crossing at intersections , that is when he was'nt driving down the footpath !

I don't think so. It looks to me like they are crossing everywhere & anywhere they want to, that's what makes it look so chaotic. That and the film speed has been sped up.

 

Cool video! I enjoy seeing vintage footage. Thats before the use of SCBA'a as well, those guys were real "smoke eaters".

Use of the sidewalk.....simply AWESOME! That's funny. And still today...no one pulls over for us.

 

it's my honest belief that fire trucks and rescue squad trucks ought to have a vee-shaped snowplow on front and one member "tagging" slowpokes with a paintball gun when they won't give way.

 

I like it when he drove upside-down for a little bit. The Chief was sure talented!

 

Amazing,,didnt bend any fenders either...or run down a person on foot.
