Did a search and didn't find a Sunday Models thread for this week, so I guess I'll kick it off with one that I finished up on News Year's Eve.... This started with a trashed out '66 Corvair hardtop promo that was handed off to me, by fellow KKIM member, Les Gibbens... Since the roof was already missing, the choice to make it into a roadster was a no brainer... The Corvair's wheelbase was altered to fit the ch***is from the MPC/AMT Winged Express, while a tonneau was fashioned, from Evergreen sheet, to fill the opening left from the missing roof. In true Nitro Marty fashion, a 392 hemi was pieced together with bits from the Winged Express, Revell's Miss Deal, and my parts box... After all... A big block Chevy would have been way too obvious!!! Front wheels were borrowed from one of Polar Lights' funny car kits, while the tires were found in the Winged Express... Rear Wheels are , again, Winged Express items, while the slicks originated in MPC's Ramchargers dragster kit. Paint is Testors One Coat, Inca Gold, fogged with Tamiya TS-72 Clear Blue, decanted and shot through an airbrush... Graphics are a combination of Decals by Lucas, and some stuff that I printed up myself.
Theres already one. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=765935 Been one since 6.52AM. lol
Not as spectacular as the models above or any posted previously, but a 1:25 version of my actual Chevelle SS: I had to combine two kits, a Revell Z16 kit from 1996 for 90% of it, and a more recent station wagon kit from AMT for the wheels, tires and engine [I'm afraid neither my eyesight nor my manual dexterity are what they were the last time I put a scale model together (1967 or so)].
That's last week guys, look at the date... Nice work you guys, LOVE the corsair and that Chevelle is a beauty! Cool photo Ester Eddie I'll just share a link I posted on my Art-N-Motion page on (sorry guys) FaceBook... https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.313392682110756.74521.302701676513190&type=1
