in my A i using a 50 ford column shift steering column, any ideas on a column drop? i seen all the ones for just a regular column drop never any with a column shift. if you done one post a pic or got an idea let me know.
I've seen aftermarket aluminum column drops for 40's ford columns, not sure if they would fit your 50 column though
Not a good picture of an old aftermarket aluminum column drop and this was originally made for a floor shift but it was very easy for me to cut the key hole slot for the second shaft. Mine was an automatic but it still used the second shaft for the shifter. (the look that I wanted) In the 60s these were available for column shifts. The column is a rare automatic F-100 so the clamp part should work just fine. These may be hard to find. I don't think that they are being repopped. It should be pretty easy to fabricate one but I love the old hotrod parts.
I built this one out a scrap chunk of aluminum. 3 inch drop. 2 inch gm column. Not sure if this helps.
Speedway item on Ebay 130818715953 Same price in the Speedway catalog. I'd think about making you own if you have the stuff to do it with an that shouldn't take much more than something to cut the shape out an a pair of hole saws to cut the holes for the steering and shift columns.
Limeworks has some good looking stuff, if you don't want to make your own: http://limeworkspeedshop.com/store.html
I had such a good time working up this one I would consider making some for others.......may take some time and some coin though! If'n I did go into the fab buisness I think I would need about 75 bucks apeice though!
