Its good to hear you and your family are Ok, like all the others said - if you need any help or any thing. Once again the HAMB is amazing L
On the way to work this morning I was just thinking about you and your family. Now I know damn well your family need stuff with that much water in the house. Please give us an email for paypal or an address to send stuff to help you. Not only the Hamb but the whole nation wants to help you get through this. We NEED to help you get through this. Pj
Glad you made it out okay. Sorry for the loss on the cars. IF you need anything please let us know. I am sure between all of us we can get together enough parts to get your motors back together.
Hey guys.. thanks for the concern...Everything is still a blur right now...Its really like a bad dream. sounds corny but thats the way it is. I heard they found another body on my street today. My house shouldn't be there, but it is. THANKS GOD! Everywhere I look, I realize that although I lost my downstairs shop, and all the tools and the 31 roadster and 41 chevy truck are balls of rust, I really don't have much to complain about. Man everywhere I look is a slab where a house had been for 100 years. Now the National guard won't let us look around anymore. No problem with that either btw, I've seen enough. I can't even make myself take a picture of anything. I mean where would I aim the camera. Its just total destruction in most areas. State Farm is already arguing about flood vs wind damage. Nobody in my neighborhood has flood insurance, nobody was in a flood plain here, and nobody ever dreamed water could rise 30 feet. At my house the actual "living space" of my house is about 28 feet above sea level. down stairs which is kindof like a ba*****t was about 20 feet above. The water came up 27 feet and just gutted it, blew 2 12 foot doors and all the windows out. Its really, man I can't even tell you what it is , sureal I guess. So I guess they arent going to cover anything that was covered with water, which is everything to do with the hotrods or tools. I have spent the last couple of days trying to free up the stuck grinders, and fiddled with cleaning my mig but had to finally face the music on that stuff, its likely junk. The roadster was THAT CLOSE to the first drive, and the 41 was going to paint last week. that kinda stinks. BTW the Red Cross is a Joke...kinda sore at them at the moment. The State of Tennessee has been more help than the local FEMA and others. Never thought I would need any kind of "***istance" but here I am. Kinda time to put the ole pride on the shelf for a while. Anyway, we have our clothes, and food and stuff. Kids lost their trampoline and pool we had just bought, and all that sort of stuff that is outside normally, but we'll regroup and Git er dun.... The main thing is , thanks for the concern. But we're okay on the essentials for now.
glad you and your family are all together and in one piece, if you've got a paypal acct post the address and I will drop a couple dollars in it if not post up an address we can send you something to help out maybe make up a list of essentials?
man sorry about your losses... atleast you guys have each other and that is something FEMA and Red Cross can never help anyone with! Good Luck and if i can help in anyway please PM me put your pride aside we are here to help!
Another update, power is on here in places....amazing, still having to find and internet connection here and there to check email. Had some kids from a church group helping me pick my sockets out of the mud today. I can't believe the force of the surge. The water moved over a locked roll-around tool cabinet that I could barely budge, then dumped it over and bent all the drawers. Pushed the truck sideways and caved in the back of the cab. Then I find the door gl***, Unbroken..... tried again for the thousandth time to contact fema. Cant check my checking balance, if I have one Tried again to contact my local state farm dude. His office had 8' in it.... went to lowes to find a pump for my sewage lift station that was ripped away from the house and bought the wrong one..ARG more lines to stand in....at least they had the copper pipe so I can reconnect the hot water heater and see if it still works...Its electric and is dry now, was ripped off the wall and busted the copper lines. The good: Gas lines are getting shorter, never seen so many hummers and helicopters. The bad: My office still sits with moldy walls and mud covering the floor, so no work for awhile still. The joys of self employment. at least we're making headway. anyway for those who wanted it the paypal is my email address..Mikeacs@aol.com, but really, we're managing... Thanks to all........may get some pictures up if my connection comes back, figured I better start do***enting losses in case fema steps up.
We're watchin and prayin for ya'all up here bro. Hang tight, the man does his thing his own time, his own way. Like Squigy said, PM if you need what i have to offer and consider it done
I have some family friends that lost everything there staying at my sisters house. FEMA ****s since they had insurance not that it covered this said that there SOL and hung up on her. Basicaly the only ones that are gonna recive help are the people that had nothing to begin with, the looters will probably make out better than they will. I hope it works out for ya. Im pretty disenchanted with our goverment right now. I hope Im wrong about all this. Take every bit of help everyone is offering. My prayers are with you guys.
