Fordor is a little taller at the rear, right? Any other differences? How do you tell a 5W door from a fordor door? Thanks, Chris
Fordor doors have more of an arch to the top of the window opening. The 5-window is more straight. If they are side-by-side it's easy to tell. But otherwise a guy would have to be an expert to tell.
I used 4 doors on my coupe. Take a look at my build. They are approximately a 1/4 inch shorter (all in the lip at the end of the door) and they are 40mm or about 3/4 inch taller at the rear (memory a lit vague on that). Easy to cut down The arch referred to is visible on top of the door frame on the inside. Did not create an issue for me. I was using the roof of a 4 door though. These 4dr doors have been used on other coupe builds.
if you use 4 door doors you need to heat the top front corner to get the door to bend in that area so the back will come down the 3/4 inch.
take a picture of the inside of the top....also measure the width at the belt line. I can compare tonight after work
The guy with these doors is going to ge me measurements in a little while. Can anyone get me how tall the door is on the rear side (door latch side) from top to bottom off either a fordor or a 5W??? I need to confirm what these are but they are no were near me. Thanks guys!
Chris, your pics show fordor parts. If you look at the top of the interior window molding it is even more visible. The arch really comes down at the back corner. A 5-window door molding will come to an almost 90 degree corner at the upper rear. If you don't mind adding a bit to the back edge of the skin like rcnut says, and are maybe chopping the car so the height won't matter, then just find fordor moldings and you will be golden. PS: a little extra windlace work will be required to fill the gap at the upper back corner when you do the interior.
These doors, on the latch side, measure roughly 44 1/2" from corner to corner...does that tell anyone anything?
Hey Chris, Just went out to the garage and measured, the rear edge of the passenger front door measures at just under 44.5 inches. -Ryan
1932 Ford restorer's guide lists the following dimensions: 27 1/2 inches width of front door on fordor. 27 13/16 inches width of door on 5 window
here is fordor door used on my 5 window built. the whole car is actualy a forodr sedan cut down to look like a 5 window. i used 5 window quarters. the door arch on the top was not fixed but i did shorten the heidth. something like 5/8's or 3 /4 i can remember.

Thanks everyone. These doors popped up on CL near me advertised as coupe doors and I thought of picking them up, reattaching the tops (he cut them off to chop them but that's as far as he got) and selling them. He wants a grand for the pair, which would be a pretty good deal had they been coupe...but looks like they are fordors. They are very nice doors with just a little rot on the bottom skin...if anyone needs these PM me and I can get you the guys contact info. They are located in central WA.
