Watching the video reminds be of the old saying"It takes a two acre field to turn this car around",,figuratively of course! :D HRP

  9. Elvis the pelvis, he had a brother named Ennis but no one talked about him much. :D

I remember that my big sister was a big Elvis fan. We went to a concert and a lot of the girls were throwing their ******* on the stage. She decided that we should leave because I was still a little kid and she was not an Elvis fan after that. Funny the things that will turn you off about someone.

He was famous I will give him that, I never was a big fan myself, but he was famous and he did have a song or two that I liked.

Hey HRP what do you suppose the windshield was on that roadster in the vid?

Oh and it is " Give me 40 acres and I'll turn this rig around. . ." Hank Snow. ;)

The windshield is the back window from a '39 Chrysler. I saw this car at the Smithsonian last summer on our family trip to DC. I told my wife it was the best part of the trip...I don't think she liked that comment too much.

  13. Junk Hunter,
Thanks. Never seen one done that way (that I recall), pretty slick little piece of history right there.

When Elvis was drafted and got stationed the men raced jeeps for something to do, in the first race Elvis was in, He lost, after that He had some hop-up parts sent to the base and had one of the mechanics install the parts, Elvis would only drive the souped jeep thereafter and never lost again, at home He had his fovorite pinball game rigged, the first score of the day was always the highest and Elvis would always go 1st, He did not like to lose. There's one thing consistant about the Hamb guys.....99.9% of the time, you people can still maintain a high level of cutting others down.........I wonder if it's a trait that was p***ed down from parents or something that was self taught

Wanna hear something funny? When Elvis p***ed away in '77 (?) I was 15 and he was 42. I remember thinking, "jeez, the guy was 42, what's so unusual about someone that old dying?" Now that I'm 50, I don't think that way anymore...

I thought Steve McQueen was the KING of Cool.

  24. How people for get that when Elvis was starting out he was just as much a out cast and the first hotroders were. And he helped kick of that cool sound we call rock and roll. So here is to a jelly donut and a happy birthday.

Elvis Costello couldn't hold a candle to the "King of Rock & Roll Elvis Presley.:D

    CRUISER

Lots of guys were cool in the day, but the "King of Cool" has to be Clint Eastwood no one does it better.
